A really exciting role working with an AI start up company that expects the best and supports the best. Yes, you will own the finance function end-to-end but you will also get stuck into HR, legal, and operational matters, working directly alongside a Founding Partner as a true right-hand support. We are looking for a unicorn: someone with serious finance foundations who is hungry to learn, naturally curious, and excited by the idea of growing into something much broader.
Why This Role Exists
We need to bring our finance function in-house and start thinking more strategically about how it supports the rest of the business. We need someone who can own the numbers, produce meaningful management information, and then lift their head up and get involved in the wider operational life of a fast-moving, PE-backed AI consultancy. This is a rare opportunity to get in early at a company with serious momentum and grow with it.
What You Will Do
Finance
- Own the full month-end process including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals & prepayments
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Produce management accounts and financial reports that actually tell a story
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards
Operations, HR & Legal Support
- Support the Senior Value Partner on a broad range of operational and administrative matters
- Assist with HR processes including onboarding, contracts, and employee records
- Help manage legal and compliance matters
- Get involved in whatever needs doing; this is a startup and no two weeks look the same
What We Are Looking For
Experience and Skills
- At least 4 years of experience in a finance analyst or similar role, ideally within a startup or scale-up environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK accounting standards and practices
- Confident with financial modelling, budgeting and management reporting
- Proficient in Excel; experience with accounting software Xero is a must;
- Strong written and spoken English; you will be drafting communications, reports, and supporting documents regularly
