Technical Authorrequired to work for an engineering and manufacturing company that designs and builds specialised equipment used in semiconductor production.
You willproduce clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation to support our engineering and manufacturing operations.
In this role, you will create and maintain technical manuals, user guides, and supporting documentation for complex engineered products. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you will translate technical information into structured documentation that supports product use, installation, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including operation manuals, installation guides, and maintenance procedures
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to gather and interpret technical information
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, structured documentation
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes
- Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with internal standards
- Review and update existing documentation to reflect product or process changes
Requirements
- Previous experience as aTechnical Author / Technical Writerwithin amanufacturing or engineering environment
- Background inmechanical engineering or manufacturing
- Ability to understand and interpretengineering drawings, specifications, and technical processes
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage documentation projects
Desirable Skills
- Experience usingAdobe FrameMaker
- Familiarity with documentation standards and version control processes
- Experience supporting documentation for complex engineered products or industrial equipment
