We are looking for a consultative and experienced software engineer / developer to assist in transforming a legacy application used for fire, water and asbestos compliance. The existing application was first developed mid-2000's and is based on the following architecture;
- Web Server (IIS) and Database (Microsoft SQL)
- ASP / VB
- .Net
Our client is looking to engage the right consultant on a scoping and discovery activity that will deliver a transition plan and cost estimate as per below;

Review and Analysis of existing application
- Understand existing application architecture
- Document and gather existing user flows
- Document and gather any existing external integrations (manual, automated, or API)
- Document and gather database model
- Map and document interdependencies
- Document high-level security architecture
- Document existing licensing and hosting commercials

Create Transition / Transformation Scope
- Document and present to stakeholders transition plan for legacy application
- Document and present to stakeholders target application architecture and hosting model
- Provide detailed Scope of Work for application transformation and transition, to include resourcing effort and costing

Development of new features & functionality
- Workshop with stakeholders to collate new features and functionality required from the platform
- Further in-depth analysis on the platform to assess the possibility of building these new features
- Document and present which features are possible, along with high level cost and effort estimate
Key Required Skills
- Demonstrative experience in transforming legacy web based applications
- Software development and engineering background, with prior exposure to .NET, ASP, VB
- Real world delivery of software projects in particular transformation
- Understanding and experience with Data Modelling and Databases
- Understanding of cloud hosted solutions and costing
- Commercial experience in building and estimating software delivery
- Stakeholder management, presentation skills and experience
