MIS Manager

 

Responsible for

·       The development and maintenance of the Management Information System providing accurate and timely business-critical and regulatory reporting.

·       The development and support of an internal support portal, built on Oracle DB and APEX

·       Line management of a team of Oracle BI developers, setting and reviewing objectives

 

Key result areas

·       Team is appropriately skilled to deliver the necessary business reporting requirements

·       The Management Information System is well supported and maintained with clear plans for feature development and improvements

·       Roadmap of portal development exists and maintained, reflecting business requirements and direction

·       Projects and initiatives have clear plans and appropriate tracking of timescales, risks and issues

·       Creation and maintenance of suitable progress and planning reporting

Key tasks           

·       Manage the backlog of work with the Data Product Manager

·       Ensure that requirements are met and maintain high standards

·       Identify and implement improvements, focusing on productivity and efficiency

·       Ensure accuracy of reporting data and appropriate data retention and handling rules are followed

·       Set objectives and manage the performance of direct reports through regular 1:1s. 

Core skills          

·       Significant commercial experience Oracle BI products, ETL tools and databases.  Experience of APEX very beneficial

·       Experience of data warehousing and data analytics

·       Understanding of data retention rules and practices, e.g. GDPR

·       Ability to plan and track work across a number of initiatives

·       Experience of agile working practices 

·       Understands the management of risks & issues
